Douglas McKenzie is a Lieutenant in the Steelhead Division. Brother of Lt. Robert McKenzie, Douglas is a wealthy individual; his money is the result of a successful legal dispute against the Helsingor Beverage Company.
The character's name and background are a reference to Dave Thomas's character Bob McKenzie from the recurring SCTV sketch "Great White North", and the fictional Elsinore Brewery from the 1983 film Strange Brew.
